As someone deeply passionate about the intersection of storytelling, education, and audience insight, I’m thrilled to share Screen Engine/ASI’s collaboration with TheWrap on their 2024 rankings of the top 50 film schools in the United States.

Our team worked closely with TheWrap to introduce a data-driven approach to evaluating these institutions, moving beyond traditional rankings to provide a clearer, more comprehensive picture of each school’s strengths. We designed a survey that examined key factors like student retention, faculty expertise, access to industry-standard equipment, hands-on learning opportunities, and the achievements of alumni. By quantifying these elements, we aimed to make the rankings more transparent and meaningful for aspiring filmmakers and the schools themselves.

The results were both insightful and inspiring. NYU Tisch School of the Arts emerged as the top-ranked institution, highlighting its dedication to fostering diverse talent and providing unparalleled opportunities for students. We also saw incredible progress from schools like the University of Arizona and the University of Miami, reflecting their commitment to innovation in film education.
