
evin Goetz is the founder and CEO of Screen Engine/ASI, a global leader in entertainment research and content testing, serving major film, television, and streaming studios. With over three decades of experience, he has been at the forefront of Hollywood’s “movie research” industry having tested over 5000 titles in his career. He holds a unique position in the industry working with studio leaders and filmmakers and making significant contributions to how their movies are made, marketed, and released.
In 2024, Kevin was honored with the prestigious Power of Cinema Award by the American Cinematheque, recognizing his significant contributions to the movie business. He is the author of two books: the bestselling Audience•ology: How Moviegoers Shape the Films We Love (Simon & Schuster, 2021), offering an inside look at the power of audience pre-release test screenings, and How to Score in Hollywood (Simon & Schuster, September 2025), exploring the secrets to success in the movie business.
Kevin brings his expertise to life as the host of the successful podcast, Don’t Kill the Messenger,and continues to educate up-and-coming filmmakers, deliver keynote speeches, and give talks and presentations around the world. He has also produced 12 television movies, including the Emmy-winning Wild Iris and the documentary Children in the Fire which tells the story of the resilient children living through the war in Ukraine.
A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Television Academy, and the Producers Guild of America, Kevin is deeply committed to the industry. He also serves on the boards of six non-profit organizations.
Goetz resides in Beverly Hills with his husband, Neil, and their labradoodle, Kasha.

Film Producer
Since the late 90’s, Kevin Goetz has expanded his activities to include production of twelve television movies, often employing his four “abilities” metrics to guide decisions regarding script, casting, and budgeting. Producing has also enabled him to bring both a marketing and filmmaking perspective to the interpretation of his research findings. Kevin is most proud of his award-winning Wild Iris, a co-production between Paramount and Showtime, starring Laura Linney, Gena Rowlands, and Emile Hirsch and directed by the late Daniel Petrie Sr. Wild Iris was honored with three Emmy nominations and took home one.
